Tricia Yu is an Associate. She specialises in multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes, corporate insolvency and contentious probate matters. Tricia has a strong background in finance and draws on her solid analytical skills in representing clients in complex financial investigations and disputes.
Tricia has represented local and international insolvency practitioners. She has experience handling investigations and bringing large-scale claims on behalf of liquidators, including claims arising from corporate collapse and insolvency, such as professional negligence, breach of directors’ duties and misappropriation of assets.
She has also represented corporate and individual clients in complex commercial litigation and international arbitration (administered by HKIAC) involving breach of contract, shareholder disputes, debt recovery and contentious probate matters.
Tricia had a prior career in the financial sector specialising in asset management. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics before obtaining a Juris Doctor degree.
Tricia is dual qualified in Hong Kong and England and Wales. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Former Singapore-listed water-treatment company
Acted for the liquidators of a former Singapore-listed water-treatment company in investigating and pursuing a claim against the company’s former chairlady for breach of director’s duties and a claim against the company’s auditor for professional negligence.
Hong Kong venture capital company
Advised a venture capital company on commencing HKIAC-administered arbitration against a crypto startup company in the sum of more than HKD2 billion.
Late tycoon’s estate
Advised the joint and several administrators in the administration of a late tycoon’s estate.
Purchase of two commercial properties
Assisted in advising on a contractual dispute with a potential claim of over HK$350 million arising out of the sale and purchase of two commercial properties in Hong Kong.
Domain names
Assisted in an injunction application on behalf of a domain name investor in relation to 43 valuable domain names.
Hong Kong company
Assisted in advising a Hong Kong company on the recovery of a debt of HK$70 million, including an application for a summary judgment.
Investigation by a regulator
Assisted in advising on an investigation by a regulator in respect of MPF intermediaries’ regulated activities.
Debt restructuring of a company
Assisted in advising on the debt restructuring of a company listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, including an application for a scheme of arrangement (with cross-border elements) to the Hong Kong Court.
